How To Get Started

Many of my clients have kept a file of their ideas that they would like to see in their garden. With or without that; after a telephone conversation we will meet in person, at a time and date convenient for you. I will look at the project site and then we will go through an extensive questionnaire. This questionnaire is a tool for both you. It will clarify what you truly want and give me the backdrop for your design.

A Design Brief is my understanding of what you will be hiring me to accomplish for you. It is the tool that you use to make sure I have developed and provided you with what you had expected. It is a tool, and a reminder to me of what aspects of design I will accomplish for you with your plan

From this Design Brief, I develop my bid and proposal. Once and agreement and a signed document are in place, we take photographs of your property and measurements. From this, we develop a site survey for me to develop your personalized plan.

Once we have an approved design, selected the plantings and hardscapes, I can help you with contractor recommendations or give you the contacts to purchase your own materials and begin all or a portion of your design. My "team" consists of installing contractors, artisans for natural stone and concrete applications, and an irrigation troubleshooter. My contractors - in most cases - can complete your entire project. Where a specialized trade is required, we have the contacts for you.
